Spring/Summer 2011 Make up Trends.

1) Romantic Neutral Look.
A natural and glowing complexion will always be around even if it isn't summer or spring. Usually we use an illuminating foundation to produce a beautiful glowing effect on your skin but in this case I did not own one. For me, as long as you highlight above your cheek bones and on the bridge of your nose, it gives you quite a glowing effect as it gives a lightened gentle tone to your face.

Products I have used:
Etude House BB Magic Cream (Foundation)
Savvy by DB (Natural) Concealer (also used as an eye primer)
Coastal Scents 88 Original Eye Shadow Palette (Using a bronze/brown for eye lids and lower lash line)
Rimmel The Max Bold Curves Mascara (001 Black)
Lilan Vital Beauty Case For Eye & Cheek (Using a gold for inner corners & peachy blush along your cheek bones)
The Body Shop Lipstick (42)
L'elan Vital Diamonte Ultra-Gloss Lip Colour

2) Vibrant Lips
If you want a simple natural look with a bit of colour, go for the vibrant lips! I have been inspired by the enticing, fruity, candy-coloured lips for this Spring/Summer season with a matte texture leaving everything else natural and light. But in this case, I chose to use gloss for my lips as I wanted to add a bit of fun and shine to it, since it's Spring/Summer, it is the season of wild juicy colours! Usually the common vibrant lip colours for this season are hot pink, coral, red, orange and fuchsia. So don't be afraid to go for any of these colours! I basically used the same products from the Romantic Neutral Look but removed the eye shadow, added false lashes, intensify the blush and applied a fuchsia colour to my lips.

Products I have used:
Etude House BB Magic Cream (Foundation)
Savvy by DB (Natural) Concealer
Coastal Scents 88 Original Eye Shadow Palette (Using a black for lining the lash lines)
Eyelashes Fashion Colour Model (21)
Rimmel The Max Bold Curves Mascara (001 Black)
Lilan Vital Beauty Case For Eye & Cheek (Pink blush along the cheek bones)
L'Oreal Intense Fuchsia Lipstick (288)
L'elan Vital Diamonte Ultra-Gloss Lip Colour

 3) Bright Eye Makeup
This bright eye makeup was inspired by Christian Dior using pastels and bold, bright shades of green, yellow, orange, fuchsia or blue, with a frosty finish. One of my favourite eye shadow colours is definitely green! This look would be good for both day and night, you could line your eyes with a black liquid eye liner giving a nice wing at the outer corners in order to intensify the look. How I did this look was the same from the Vibrant Lips look and just simply applied a bright green eye shadow on my eye lids, following the shape and into the hollows of my eyes.

Products I have used:
Etude House BB Magic Cream (Foundation)
Savvy by DB (Natural) Concealer (also used as an eye primer)
Coastal Scents 88 Original Eye Shadow Palette (Using a bright green eye shadow on eye lids)
Eyelashes Fashion Colour Model (21)
Rimmel London The Max Bold Curves Mascara (001 Black)
Lilan Vital Beauty Case For Eye & Cheek (Pink blush along your cheek bones)
L'Oreal Intense Fuchsia Lipstick (288)
L'elan Vital Diamonte Ultra-Gloss Lip Colour

4) Elegant Pastel Look
This look was inspired by Sephora using a soft lavender and pink shades above the crease and blend towards your eye brow. Or you could use solely a pink shade. If you like a natural complexion with not-so-dramatic colours, giving a sweet and cute aura to it, then this look could be for you.  Oh yes, don't forget to line your water line with a white eye liner pencil! Not only it gives you an illusion of larger eyes but it really contributes to the gentle sweet pastel look. "It's less shimmer, and more shine"

 Products I have used:

Naww! Alice you're gorgeous! You're doing such a good job with describing your make up looks too man! :D Makes it sound more simple than most I've read before, and definitely makes me wanna invest more in make up hahaha XD My favourite is the last one :) I've always liked putting a little colour in my cheeks when I go out (^-^) but I'm not sure if the baby pink eyeshadow would look as good on me~! haha I generally stay away from eye shadows (o_o) I remember trying out pale yellow when I was younger, and it made me look like my skin was dried out LOL! errr fail :P

    XOX

Thank you so much Julie! Readers like you makes me feel motivated and do things much greater! hehe. You are such a cutie Julie! I reckon a soft peach/coral/orange shades would look great on you! LOL aww it probably looks dried out because you didn't apply an eye primer, you could use a concealer as an eye primer, it makes your eyeshadow vibrant and last longer! Because when I start off with make up, I went through the same thing! XD

OhhhHHH!!! Yes that makes sense! :D I didn't know what primer was until 2-3 years ago LOL XD I reckon I won't ever go back to pale yellow though haha, but I would like to try a vibrant yellow one day!! Just for funsies! hehe :P and and and I actually ordered a coral lip/cheek stainer from overseas (^-^) woo! I was re-stocking my Lioele BB Cream, and I saw they had a lip stainer too :D yosh! can't wait!! xox

hahaha next time we'll have a girls' night, we'll try a vibrant yellow on you till your eyes shine! XD Oh nicely done! Because you really suit the coral warm colours Julie! Seriously, I did not know what BB cream is till Kimu introduced me the product on our girls' night! Now I am obsessed with it, such a nice natural product for your face compared to the usual foundations  I have used lol. I wouldn't mind trying a lip stainer! It's cool how they look like texters. XD
